Bromelain is an enzyme derived from the stem of fresh pineapple. It is widely known as a digestive enzyme, as it helps break down meals that are high in protein and fat.

However, recent studies have also highlighted non-enzymatic actions of bromelain, which appear to resemble those of curcumin (the main active compound in turmeric). For this reason, bromelain is often taken alongside turmeric supplements. Additionally, it seems that bromelain enhances the absorption of curcumin, thereby boosting its effectiveness.

Since bromelain is an enzyme, its activity (and therefore its potency) is measured in enzymatic activity units — specifically GDU’s (Gelatin Dissolving Units) — rather than in milligrams (mg), which measure weight.

Ingredients: Bromelain, Calcium Carbonate, Cellulose, Anti-caking Agents (Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate), Crosslinked Cellulose Gum, Tablet coating (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Glycerine).

Directions +

When taken in combination with Glucosamine or Turmeric:
Take 3 tablets daily (1 tablet between each main meal) for one week.
Then, as a maintenance dose, take 1 tablet daily for 3 to 6 months.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

When taken as a digestive aid:
Take 1 tablet before each meal, with a maximum of 3 tablets per day.
