Rhodiola rosea, also known as “golden root,” is one of approximately 50 species of the Rhodiola genus. However, it is the only species that has been widely and safely used, as evidenced by its long-standing tradition of use.

Rhodiola rosea contains a wide range of phytochemically active compounds, the most important of which are the rosavins—a family of glycosides known for their adaptogenic properties.*

The adaptogenic action of this herb is particularly useful in situations involving prolonged exposure to physical or mental stressors, and in conditions where enhanced cognitive and mental performance is required—such as during exam periods for students.*
