P5P 20mg
Metabolically Active Form of Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6)
Vitamin B6 is the sixth vitamin in the B-complex group. The biologically active forms of vitamin B6 are 5-phosphorylated pyridoxal (P5P) and 5-phosphorylated pyridoxamine (PMP). These forms are produced by phosphorylation of vitamin B6 after it is absorbed by the body.
Among the two biologically active molecules, 5-phosphorylated pyridoxal (P5P) is the most important form, as it acts as a cofactor for the majority of the body’s B6-dependent enzymes.
By taking vitamin B6 as 5-phosphorylated pyridoxal, conversion to the active form is not required.
