Vitamin D 400iu
Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 400iu
In the last twenty years, vitamin D has come back strongly to the forefront of scientific interest as it has been shown to affect the functioning of the body from embryonic life to old age. In particular, it is a steroidal pro-hormone, which contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to the maintenance of normal blood calcium levels, to the maintenance of normal bone, muscle and tooth condition, to cell division and to the normal function of the immune system*.
The body’s vitamin D is the sum of vitamin D synthesized in the skin and vitamin D obtained from food. However, and despite the fact that most of the vitamin is synthesized endogenously, a large proportion of the population is vitamin D deficient.
The majority of the population has a high incidence of vitamin D deficiency.
