Directions +

This product can be used either:

a) As a zinc supplement, or
b) As a taste test to help assess an individual’s zinc status.

a) As a dietary supplement:

Take 5ml (1 teaspoon) of Zincatest® daily with a meal, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
If preferred, it may be diluted in water or orange juice.

b) As a taste test for zinc levels:

The test should be done at least one hour after eating or drinking.

  • Dilute 5ml (1 teaspoon) of Zincatest® in 60ml of water (about 1/4 of a glass).

  • Then take 5ml of the diluted mixture, swish it around in your mouth for about 10 seconds, and either swallow or spit it out.

The taste sensation indicates your zinc status:

  1. No taste (like plain water): Low zinc levels

  2. Slight dry, metallic, or possibly sweet taste after a few seconds: Marginal zinc levels

  3. Noticeable taste that intensifies with time: Fair zinc levels

  4. Strong, unpleasant taste immediately perceived: Adequate zinc levels

For results in categories 1 or 2, daily zinc supplementation (e.g. with Zincatest®) is recommended until zinc levels improve to categories 3 or 4.
A typical supplementation period lasts 3 to 6 months.
Each time you perform the test, prepare a fresh dilution.

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
