GENERAL QUESTIONS
Why should I choose your company?

Because all our formulations are based on an in-depth understanding of the latest nutritional research and our strategy is to develop only products that are backed by sound scientific research. The most important feature of our company, however, is our understanding that efficacy is directly dependent on the correct dosage and concentration of micronutrients. We have designed all of our formulations with this in mind, while paying particular attention to the absorption and bioavailability of the active ingredients

Where are your formulations manufactured?

All our products are manufactured in the UK in three of the most modern and technically advanced factories in Europe, which operate to strict Pharmaceutical GMP (Pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and are approved by the UK Department of Health and the Medicines Control Agency.

What does "clinically tested" mean that I see on several of your formulations?

It means that the product has been used in a clinical study. Lamberts is one of the few, if not the only, clinical nutrition supplement company with such a programmed focus on clinical research.Over the last 20 years we have invested over 2,000.000€ in clinical nutrition studies, working together with many research departments of major Universities in order to conduct studies in different areas of clinical practice, such as the use of magnesium in asthma , the use of anthocyanidins in fluid retention , the use of antioxidants in tinnitus etc.

What does the GMP mark mean? What does the GMP mean?

It means Good Manufacturing Practice. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is a certification of high standards of production quality that ensures that products are continuously produced and controlled according to strictly defined quality standards. It applies to all aspects of pharmaceutical production, from raw materials, manufacturing sites and equipment, to staff training and personal hygiene. Without this certification, it is impossible to be sure that each batch of formulations is of the same high quality as the original, as during production there is a risk of unexpected contamination, an error in the labelling of the formulations, as well as the risk of a lower (reduced yield) or higher (risk of toxicity) content of the active ingredients in the formulations. For this reason we insist that all our products are produced in our Pharmaceutical GMP (Pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice) certified facilities. The operation of all Lamberts’ factories is approved by the UK Department of Health’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

What does the GMO Free mark mean? What does the GMO mark mean? ANSWER: the

Tthe GMO Free or non GMO label means that the product has NOT been produced using genetically modified organisms or genetically modified raw materials. All Lamberts formulations are GMO Free (non GMO).

What raw materials does Lamberts use?

Raw materials for the manufacture of food supplements can vary widely, as there are high quality raw materials intended for human use and lower quality raw materials used in the manufacture of animal feed. The raw materials used in the manufacture of all LAMBERTS products comply with the specifications used in the pharmaceutical industry and concern substances intended for human clinical nutrition.

What checks do you do on the raw materials you use?

Many natural ingredients used as raw materials in the manufacture of food supplements can be contaminated by environmental factors, i.e. substances that are naturally occurring in nature and arise as a result of human activity (e.g. heavy metals). For this reason, each of our products is tested to ensure that the ingredients in the list below are either absent or found at levels much lower than the strict limits set by the European Union:

  • Aflatoxins (aflatoxins are carcinogenic compounds).
  • Antibiotics
  • Heavy metals
  • PCBs – Polychlorinated biphenyls
  • Polychlorinated biphenyls
  • PAHs – Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
  • Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

In addition, all raw materials are checked for microbial, fungal and viral contamination.

Why do you use these opaque packages and not glass ones?

LAMBERTS products are packaged in special, opaque HDPE (High Density PolyEthylene) containers, suitable for the storage and preservation of food and food supplements. The choice of this particular packaging material was made because we want our products to be exposed neither to visible light (which passes through glass) nor to ultraviolet radiation to avoid oxidation of the nutrients.

FATTY ACIDS
Why should I choose your fish oils?

For 2 reasons: 1) For their high potency (as determined by their EPA & DHA content) and 2) For their maximum purity. Lamberts® ensures that its fish oils are of maximum purity as

  • For the preparation of fish oils, the subcutaneous fat of pelagic fish is used rather than liver, ensuring higher purity of the raw material.
  • All Lamberts® fish oils are tested for the presence of Aflatoxins / Antibiotics / Heavy Metals / PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) and PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) and are subjected to 5 stages of cold molecular distillation ensuring maximum purity of the final product.
From what fish do you produce your fish oils? I ask you because many companies clearly indicate the type of fish they use (salmon, sardines, etc.).

The fish used for the preparation of our fish oils are from the open sea. These fish are not endangered, are caught using good fishing practices and are not given growth hormone. The reason many companies insist on listing the fish they use is purely for show, as their fish oils are very low potency (not high in EPA and DHA) and do not reach LAMBERTS’ standards of quality and safety with 5-fold molecular distillation. For this reason they insist on the raw material and not the final product.

In which seas do you catch the fish you use to make your fish oils? Are these seas clean?

Many companies report for marketing purposes the seas in which they fish the fish they use to make their fish oil. Unfortunately, no sea is 100% clean. Even if they were, the fish in the high seas move freely and may have been exposed to environmental pollutants. We accept this, and through the processes we use (use of subcutaneous fat, 5-fold molecular distillation) we ensure and assure you that our final product is crystal clear.

I have a fish allergy and cannot take Fish Oil. What do you recommend?

You can get either Omega 3 from flaxseed oil (FLAX SEED OIL) or Omega 3 from microalgae (Vegan DHA, Vegan Omega 3 750mg, Vegan Omega 3 Liquid)

MINERALS
What is the elemental mineral content of your formulations?

LAMBERTS states on all metal formulations that it sells the amount of the elemental metal provided by the formulation. For example:

MagAsorb 150 mg 150mg elemental magnesium
Mag 375 mg 375 mg of elemental magnesium
Zinc 25 mg
25 mg elemental zinc
Zinc 15 mg
15 mg of elemental zinc

The same applies to the minerals contained in multivitamin preparations.

GLUCOSAMINE/CHONDROITIN
: I have diabetes mellitus. Can I  take glucosamine supplements ??

Glucosamine is a glyco-protein, i.e. a protein that has glucose molecules on it, so it slightly increases the body’s glucose (sugar). However, this increase is very small and for this reason it can be taken by people who are diabetic. Just in the first few days of taking glucosamine it is good to measure their blood sugar a little more often.

I want to take glucosamine formulations with chondroitin. However, I see that instead of chondroitin you have phytohydroitin. How do you assure me that it will have the same effect as chondroitin?

Phytohydroitin is a patented form of chondroitin, produced from the edible seaweeds: cystoid algae (Fucus Vesicullosus) and sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca). The structure of phytohydrotin is identical to that of chondroitin, which results in identical bioequivalence and therefore has the same biological activity and efficacy as chondroitin.

EYEWISE
For how long can I receive Eyewise formulations?

Eyewise formulations can be taken for a long time as their active ingredients are at safe levels.

HERBS
Why do your herbs have a relatively short expiry date?

The reason for the shorter expiry date of our herbs compared to the competition is because , in the preparation of our herbs we do not use gamma radiation. This ensures that the active substance of the herb will not be destroyed, resulting in a highly effective finished product.  Unfortunately for this reason our herbs have a relatively shorter expiry date than the competition, but this is the necessary price to pay to have an effective formulation.

I see that you insist that all your herbs are titrated. What does that mean?

Each herb owes its action to a specific class of active substances called phytochemically active substances. Each herb has a different class of phytochemically active substances and therefore each herb has a different action. However, this action occurs at a certain concentration of the phytochemically active substance. A lower concentration does not ensure the desired effect, while a higher concentration increases the likelihood of toxicity. Titration is therefore a process of herbal preparation which ensures that the final product contains a specific/systematically defined amount of phytochemically active substance. The advantages of titrated herbs are therefore safety (higher dose increases the likelihood of toxicity) and efficacy. (Lower dose does not ensure the desired medicinal effect). All herbs manufactured by Lamberts are titrated to the level of titration that has been used in published clinical studies.

ΑΣΦΑΛΕΙΑ ΧΡΗΣΗΣ
I am diabetic and I want to know if your supplements have sugar.

No LAMBERTS formulation contains sugar. Also LAMBERTS products do not contain: artificial colours, perfumes, preservatives and aspartame.

: I have noticed that your products contain high amounts of micronutrients. In fact, in several of your products the dose of micronutrients is much higher than the Nutritional Reference Intake. Are the doses your company uses toxic to my body?

How long can I safely take dietary supplements?

This question is the most common question asked by Health Professionals in our Scientific Department. It has been unsupported by many companies that supplements should be taken for 3-6 months continuously and then discontinued for 1-2 months as part of “detoxification”. But this answer is wrong and shows considerable ignorance. The correct answer is that the duration of the supplement should be individualised according to the type of supplement and the needs of the consumer. For example, Echinacea is taken for a limited period of time (14-21 days only), while vitamin C can be taken for very long periods of time.

I am taking medication and want to use your supplements. How will I know if there is no risk?

For any information regarding pharmaceutical interactions, precautions or contraindications to taking dietary supplements, you can directly contact our Scientific Department. Tel. 210 93 29 139 (Ext. 2) – lamberts@greenimport.gr

I have been taking your supplements continuously. I have been taking my supplements regularly and I keep taking them. Is it safe to take it?

Relatively often Lamberts makes minor changes to the composition of its products. The frequency of the changes implemented follows the evolution of nutritional science and is the result of Lamberts’ efforts to stay current with current literature.

The colour of the tablets may vary slightly from batch to batch of the product, which is due to the natural origin of the coating excipients (e.g. beetroot pigment) and does not indicate product spoilage, provided of course that the expiry date has not passed.

ALLERGIES
I have a history of food allergies. Can I use your formulations?

ANSWER: The majority of LAMBERTS products do not contain any substance known to cause allergic reactions in persons with a known history of allergic reactions. If any allergen from the list below is present in the product, it is indicated in bold on the product label, in accordance with current European legislation on the labelling of food allergens. In addition, on our site in the “Precautions” section there is a subsection entitled allergies which indicates the presence or absence of a food allergen in the formulation.

I am gluten intolerant and want to use your preparations. Why don't your formulations say on the label whether or not they contain gluten, unlike other companies that clearly state it on their labels?

Gluten is a food allergen. According to European legislation on the listing of food allergens in foods (and therefore in supplements), this must be in bold on the list of ingredients ONLY when they are present in the formulation or food. That is, if a formulation contains a food allergen then and only then should it be listed. If it is not listed it means that it is not present in the preparation.

As an example  we give you  Pure Fish Oil, which contains the allergen as fish oil. In this case it is indicated in bold in the list of ingredients, as required by European legislation.

Labelling competing products as “Gluten Free” is redundant and is  primarily for  marketing purposes, as they want to exploit people’s awareness of gluten.

However, as we understand the stress caused to many people by the non-labelling of the presence or absence of gluten, we have labelled our gluten-free products with the corresponding icon on our website.

MULTIVITAMINS
When is the best time to take a multivitamin?

In the morning after breakfast or at noon after lunch.

CAN YOU GAIN WEIGHT FROM MULTIVITAMINS?

No, as they have no calories.

How long can I take a multivitamin for?

Multivitamin is the basis of a nutrition program, meeting multiple nutritional needs at the same time. If nutritional needs are persistent, one can continue taking a multivitamin for a long time. On the basis of this approach, Lamberts is the only nutritional supplement company in the world with 18 different multivitamin formulations.

In this way, the best possible nutritional coverage of the consumer is achieved, depending on age, gender, daily habits and the existence or not of underlying conditions that require the intake of specific micronutrients.

At the same time, it is the only company that continuously evolves the quality of its multivitamin preparations, by regularly manufacturing new products and/or evolving the composition and content of existing multivitamins, in order to keep up with the latest scientific data.

FRIENDLY BACTERIA-PREBIOTICS
When are friendly bacteria formulations taken?

Friendly bacteria formulations should not be made with hot drinks to avoid damaging the bacterial strains. For the same reason, they should be taken at least 2 hours before taking antibiotics.

What is the difference between friendly bacteria formulations and prebiotics?

Friendly bacteria formulations contain live microbes that are taken orally and colonise the gut, improving the balance of the intestinal flora. Prebiotics are indigestible food components that have a beneficial effect on the consumer by stimulating the growth and increasing the activity of one or more species of friendly bacteria in the large intestine, thereby improving the health of their human host (Gibson and Roberfroid, 1995). In other words, they are indigestible fibres that are consumed by the bacteria of the intestinal flora and multiply.
