4 Billion Friendly Bacteria
Lamberts® Acidophilus Extra 4 is a dairy-free friendly bacteria supplement that provides 4 billion live bacteria per capsule (at the time of manufacture).
The friendly bacterial strains included in Acidophilus Extra 4 are Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum. These strains have been used in the majority of studies conducted on the gut microbiome.
The bacteria contained in Acidophilus Extra 4 are heat-dried and encapsulated in delayed-release, enteric-coated capsules.
These capsules are made from an acid-resistant, enteric-coated polysaccharide matrix, which ensures the viability of the bacteria as they pass through the stomach and supports their successful colonization of the intestine.
Acidophilus Extra 4 is recommended in situations where the balance between beneficial and harmful bacteria in the gut microbiome is disrupted, such as:
• during or after antibiotic use
• when traveling abroad (traveler’s diarrhea)
• in the elderly
• during periods of stress
Like all Lamberts® supplements, it is manufactured in the United Kingdom in accordance with strict Pharmaceutical GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
